HEALTH AND SAFETY COORDINATOR

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring the Safety Policy is implemented throughout the plant

• Responsible for being up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry

• Standard operating procedures update & compliance

• Risk Assessment update & compliance

• Ensuring that management is advised on all matters relating to the Safety of personnel, such as safe working practices, equipment and Safety training.

• Risk Assessments, assessing workplace hazards, reducing risks/formulating preventative measures including safe working procedures/safe systems of work and monitoring conformance.

• Provide advice on use of PPE for various roles

• Undertake Ergonomic and VDU assessments and Audits (training can be provided)

• Ensure the delivery of health and safety inductions for all new employees or contractors.

• Produce and circulate regular H&S internal communication

• Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented;

• Making changes to working practices that are safe and comply with legislation;

• Organising and controlling regular safety inspection audits of all areas and recording the results.

• Produce reports with improvements/recommendations to be submitted to management

• Investigating and recording any incident, accident or dangerous occurrences

• Ensuring emergency response procedures are in place, maintained and updated as required. Candidate Profile

• Third level qualification in Health & Safety or a related discipline.

• 2 years of H&S experience is required with experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.

• Excellent report writing and communication skills required.

• Proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite
